They expect it to be like some other kart racer. I find it so fun! Many people don't even take the time to learn the gameplay. But as I played.as I mastered its controls. Even I admit, at first even I hated this game a bit because it was too hard. Some people even say that it is no mario kart and is not good as F-Zero and give it a bad rating! Man! Where do these people come from and what kind of logic do they use?!? The Gameplay is quite awesome! It gives you a futuristic feel. But what did I do? I followed the AI and learnt the game's unique gameplay from it. Many people say that the AI is so hard and take many shortcuts and win the game unfair. Many People say that the controls suck and the AI are cheaters.

HOWEVER: All things considered, the graphics are well rendered for PS2 (just don't mention GT4 and FF12), the gameplay is insanely addictive when you get into it, and the unlocks tempt you to keep going back for more. The game thinks it should unload things that are still on camera view, creating flashing models coming in and out of existence, including some characteristics of the main characters and the scenario behind the camera, and worse when the camera is inside a non collision based object.Īnd that's pretty much it. Frustum and Collision Culling in this game works very sloppily. specially notable when aiming to grind spots and flight rings. Side Jumping Ramps (Like the ones in metal city and Sand Ruins) can lead to weird undesirable angles rather than fixed jumps. As its only a demo is hard to describe what should be worked on and what should not, as its easy to step over irrelevant or known information, but these are the only main issues i had with this game: Plays smoothly and responsively, very similar to the first game (maybe somewhat faster?) bringing analog based tricks back and the air meter with some tweaks and qof changes, like boost holding. Amazing proof of concept of a new and modernized version of Sonic Riders, which promises stage builders for the fans entertainment and more content ports from both zero gravity and the OG game.
